Great food and selection. We went at lunchtime. socially distancing was ok. Staff very attentive. Bit of a wait when we arrived to order our drink and food but only to be expected when they are working on reduced staffing levels. Well worth a visit

First visit since refurbishment which has smartened the place up. Service was good, menu interesting but the food was a bit bland. If you're going to offer Thai style food then don't hold back. The Rising Sun has nothing to fear.
Such a relaxed, comfortable and tastefully decorated venue. The food, with apparently new Thai menu, so good that we visited three times during our trip to the New Forest. Seems they have a really talented chef. Background music pleasant and at the perfect volume so that we could easily hear ourselves talk. Highly recommended by two very fussy foodies!
First visit a month or so ago we had a drink, we sat outside in the little courtyard at the back of the pub, liked the atmosphere so returned for a meal. Not disappointed, our New Zealand waiter was very friendly and welcoming. Good choice of food including a specials board. Very cosy restaurant, candles on each table along with either fresh flowers or a beautiful table decoration made by a member of staff. Good selection of beers/lagers at the bar along with wine, gin etc. Couldn't fault the food, sensibly priced, highly recommend to anyone visiting the area, and we will return when next in Christchurch.
