We were in the area for one night celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, we had been recommended the shepherd's rest so we booked a table, service was great, food was Outstanding and a real nice atmosphere, while chatting to our waitress whilst we were paying our bill we mentioned that it was our anniversary, before we knew it a waiter bought over 2 champagne flutes and 2 free mini bottles of fizz to say happy anniversary. Really lovely thought. Great team and all the best for the future.

A typical simple country pub
First takeaway Sunday roast, won't be the last. Wonderful selection of veg, beef and turkey both delicious, gravy very tasty and very generous portions.
Overall, a very mediocre pub. Several food options were unavailable. One of the mains was clearly frozen and reheated as it was still cold in the middle. Had a pudding which was very dry. On the plus side, it’s a nice location and they allow dogs.
Olde World pub. Welcoming, obliging. Good beer in pleasant surroundings. Lovely.
