The Saxon Crown was surprisingly Clean, comfy and quiet. My mum has exceptionally high standards and she was impressed. The shower was great and hot for both of us got a decent shower. It is open till One in the morning but the noise was not to bad. Air conditioning was a godsend in the July heat and table service through the app was an added plus. Town centre location just around the corner from all the shops.

Arrived today at 15.45 and told no entry for 15 minutes although there was a lot of empty tables and the pub was half empty and no one at the bar. When I pointed these facts out, I was told it was too let the Kitchen catch up ? I explained I did not want to eat and only have a few beers, but was told I would still have wait by an obnoxious Barmaid standing on the door. This used to be a good establishment but has gone downhill fast due to poor management. I was a regular customer but not anymore
Quiet for Easter Sunday afternoon, but good food and sensibly priced beer made it a pleasant afternoon. Staff were friendly and everywhere was clean and well presented. A good example of a Wetherspoons. Will definitely return.
