Excellent potential shop, but in need of improvement. Man behind the counter didn't smile. Didn't chat. When I asked for my burger well done it still arrived pink inside. Bread had cheap margarine on and left my mouth feeling like I had eaten cold, hardened vegetable oil. No one ever puts boiled eggs on a beefburger. This shop put eggs on without asking if I wanted that. I can't possibly recommend this place based on this experience. To fix it just fix these: 1. Get a card reader 2. Prepare meals to the common recipe (when someone asks for a burger with salad, they are not asking for a burger with salad and eggs. If you offer something odd or unusual, like this, ask the customer directly if they want this. I assure you, they will all say no.) 3. At least 'pretend' you're happy to have someone visit your store.

My go to place for great fresh food, all cooked as you wait, bacon n egg barm cakes to die for...always a warm welcome

No wonder I was the only person in the shop at lunchtime - we ordered three sandwiches. The prawn on white bun was ok but the prawns were lonely. The tuna on STALE hard granary bread (turning up at the edges) was hard to eat without a gulp of drink and I can’t remember asking for egg on it?! The prawn on STALE granary was looking for his mate. I believe the reason for my poor sandwiches was the grumpy chap behind the counter who didn’t look like he wanted to be there and certainly didn’t have a first class honours in customer service. If you’re selling sandwiches they need to be top quality, well filled with fresh bread. No one minds paying a bit extra for good quality but today’s experience didn’t equate to that. I won’t be coming back. Shame as it used to be a fantastic little place!

Been going to this place since the mid 90's. Yes the original staff have retired or moved on, but the same great quality and ethos has remained the whole time. I don't think I've ever had a bad experience here in nearly 22 years

I used to go here very often for food and it was really good and fair priced. I went this morning for breakfast and a brew and its standards have dropped massively. The food tasted like grease and they now use cheap tea bags. They also put no sugar in my brew after me telling them numerous times I have 1 sugar. I eat from somewhere most mornings and this is honestly the worst I've had for a very long time. Much improvement needed.
