From the moment we walked in, the service was less than poor. Other customers were leaving AND complaining about the level of service. After a 20 min wait, we had to ask for a menu at the bar and some drinks; at which point we had decided to leave. The Royal Oak has a prime location in a tourist hot spot but it is being wasted with the present management. It's sad to see it slip like this after we have had many enjoyable evenings there.

Friendly, welcoming staff, a chef who serves chicken pie with chicken gravy instead of beef gravy as all other pubs appear to do.

Lovely cosy pub with a nice atmosphere, well priced drinks and decent food, food wasn't anything special but was decent and well priced for a wet led pub.
DOG FRIENDLY.... Nice local pub with great food in plentiful amounts. good selection of alcohol and friendly staff.
