The Royal Castle Hotel

Had a great lunch here on a cold, wet and windy day a couple of weeks back. Our sandwiches were tasty and filling, and the bread was lovely and soft (good portion of chips as well). The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because one member of staff was a bit rude to us, when asked which cask ales were available; she looked at us with confusion and then abruptly stated that she had no idea what that was! I was a little taken aback, as I thought ‘cask ale’ was a pretty widely understood term, especially if you work in a pub. Everything else was spot on though!

Sunday lunch was excellent. Great value. Welcoming staff lovely ambience. Open fire what more do you want.

Very lovely boutique hotel. The bar is lively and has a good selection of alcohol. The breakfast is basic but tasty. The staff is extremely helpful! Love them! The only negative to it being a beautiful hotel is that it has no lift.

What a lovely but effective and considerate refurbishment. Hosted, covid safe and great service. I had the prawn and monkfish curry which was excellent and my father had the beef brisket ! Topped off with a few well looked after proper jobs. Thank you

Very well organised when it came to social distancing. The staff were helpful. Interesting bar interior. I would go back here again.
