This is a lovely family restaurant that sits at the side of a canel, the food they serve is freshly cooked & well pressented.

All as very good ,the meal we had was very tasty I will eat there again,the landlord did a great job .
Nice clean place, staff cheerful and helpful. The food does however not do the place justice. I am not saying it is bad and I am not aiming criticism at the chef, as you can only do so much with what you are given, I think it's a frozen chips thing I have but I (we) have eaten at a lot of better eateries. I hope this doesn't put anyone off the pub itself as it looks like a fine boozer it is staffed well and it is spotless.
Having just got home feeling absolutely dissatisfied is an unstatement . My Son arrived just before me , but got refused entry because he wasn't wearing the appropriate clothing, so he went home to change ,so the evening got off to a great start. The landlord i must say isn't the best to people who don't visit regularly as I find this venue very clicky so regulars receive the best customer service. So ordered our meal eventually, 4 of us didn't enjoy our food , it was dry tasteless & bland . Never again will we be returning to The rose of lancaster Chadderton Oldham. Absolutely disgusting landlord & service From the yelp team .
I can recommend this pub if you want food it's excellent with very friendly staff and a good atmosphere in summer you can eat outside there is a nice large covered area
