Went here when staying with friends who said it has been recently taken over by a new landlord and landlady who made the 4 of us feel very welcome on arrival. We went there for a Sunday carvery, covid rules explained then we were shown to our table in a very nice looking dining room. Tables were well spaced out, drinks and food orders taken at the table. We were given tickets for the carvery and allowed to go up one at a time. Meat choice was pork and beef with a good size yorkshire pud, roast potatoes and a good selection of veg. All was perfectly cooked and lovely flavour . Will be back when staying in the area. Wishing you both success in your new venture.

Great food , warm atmosphere pity we didn't get a dessert shut the kitchen too early ..
The decor was great, welcome was nice, tables were well spaced, although strangely we were positioned at a table less than a metre from another table when the rest of the room was empty. The service was unfortunately terrible, wait time on food was 50 minutes from order, of 2 steaks and a kids sausage and chips. The food was worse. Chips were raw and greasy, mushrooms poured grease onto plate, steak was terribly cooked we ordered med rare and both received leather. The salad leaves dripped with balsamic oil were tasty, although half the mushroom grease was on top of them. When we were asked if we wanted any other sauces we both said hmm ketchup please, that was the last we saw of anyone until my wife finished her last mouthful, we were asked how everything was, I responded in a very iffy manner the lady smiled and walked off. Tbh we just wanted to leave, we went to the till, paid and left. No further comment made or questions asked. The only plus points were thst we managed to have a draught pint with our meal and they offer 50% off. We wanted to like this place and their food as we are very local, and our own local has gone down hill significantly. While we want to support our local businesses and want to support the pub and hospitality industry this wasn't a good experience. Very disappointing

Service was very slow 1hr for starters. Mains not good food left on all 4 plates. Waiter done his best. I could make better food at home.
