Been here a few times since Spoons has taken it over and always happy with my visit and the food is always delicious. This evening my husband and I came for steak night and it was such a bargain. Proper pub grub cooked quickly and tasty. My husband found his medium steak cooked perfectly and a good price for under 12 with the peppercorn sauce. You must try the new cookie dough sandwich!
Poor social distancing measures in place. Waitress standing right next to me tappjng my phone to help with app. She was very pleasant but should have been more aware of social distancing. Breakfast wasn't up to much. Had to go searching for sauces as forgotten to give us. Everyone handles the same milk jug for tea coffee. Carpets well worn. Not a good experience all round.
Food was a mixed bag. My friend and I ordered the large mixed grill. Mine was overcooked and dry, his was perfect (typical). The staff were an equally mixed bag, one equivalent to a five star hotel maid, the next merely accepting of our existence!
Staff very welcome, bar nice and clean and food well prepared.
