We had an amazing meal here. I had the red mullet & mussels & hubby had the Pork Belly. I would certainly recommend both The food was delicious! The staff were very attentive and made an extra effort making our desserts special for our 10th wedding anniversary.

Reasonable fish-dominated menu let down by a limited wine and spirits selection dominated by bottom-shelf brands.

A simple well thought out menu, fresh and local produce, well furnished and honest pricing.... are all things I cannot say about this restaurant. There were several warning signs from the moment we walked in; the knowing looks the table who had just finished eating, the old conference chair seating, the cutlery and crockery which I can only imagine had been bought from an old secondary school when they replaced theirs years ago, the sliced white supermarket bread - someone call Gordon Ramsey for heavens sake. I can't bear to go into detail about the particular dishes we sampled, but I am fairly confident they were a fair representation of the sprawling menu. I can only presume the owner once became obsessed by a Fanny Cradock cookbook but has since lost the pages on flavour. The fish dishes were the biggest let down bearing in mind the (presumable) ease at which chefs in Cowes can get hold of quality ingredients. The Red Duster is set in such a cute little building and couldn't be better placed in the high street. The staff were friendly, professional and attentive despite having to practice the 'yes, I know this really isn't great' face. I suspect these are the only attributes which have allowed the Red Duster to stay in business for so long. Thankfully the chips were good, they reminded me of my Nan's.

Had a lovely family meal in the Red Duster. Friendly staff and tasty, well presented food, big portions too. Will definitely return.

we order pork chop, eye rib steak, both are good. Staff is warm hearted. But, pork with red wine, I think, is sort of strangeous.
