This pub is one of the jewels of Essex, great selection of real ales, regular change of guest beers. Being a real ale nerd, this capable landlady really knows how to keep her ale. Note my focus is on the beer, my wife tells me it's also a cosy and welcoming pub too :)

Friendly staff but dont like new menu, no condiments or cutlery were offered until asked.
It was a good pub but went back yesterday and there's been a few changes to the beer on tap.. Its poor choice of beer and ales. The woman's toilets are clean but always smell. The pub is nice and cosy with table games and books for customers to use. There a pool table which is a nice touch and very few pubs have this now. There's also an outside area which is nice to sit during the summer. Staff are nice and friendly.
