Having been burnt several times in the past few years with a ‘closed kitchen’ when I’ve decided to walk to what is my local yesterday I thought I’d give it a try again so I phoned at 16:58 to confirm they were open and serving food. At about 19:30 I walked down to be greeted by a blackboard stating ‘Kitchen Closed Due To Technical Issues.’ I queried this with the barmaid as I’d phoned earlier and the one guy in the bar confirmed the chef had left earlier! Apparently this pub is under new management but frankly is still providing the same level of service I’ve encountered in past attempts. I’d love a decent local and this place has let me down consistently for 3 years now. It needs a refurb and maybe changing the car park into a garden for the summer as there is plenty of parking on the village road.

One of the nicest traditional pubs I've had the pleasure of visiting. Lovely 250ml glass of red for 5.50 and a homemade sausage and red onion roll for 2.00. Can't recommend any higher. Wonderful visit on a Monday lunchtime
