Fantastic beer. Thurston's milk stout, tastes of chocolate and coffee, what's not to like. One of my best favourites ever. No food on a Saturday night which is not great if you happen to be there and your hungry! Pleasant ambience and a nice roaring fire which is impressive for early October.
Really well set up for covid compliant times. Sheltered tables set up in the beer garden, great take service and online booking. And best of all a great selection of well kept beer.
Came here for dinner on my birthday - it was pie night. Cauliflower, leek & stilton pie was divine, and pheasant pie was sublime. If every Monday is pie night, I'm coming back a lot - forget the diet! Great home-cooked food. Service is friendly and quick.
