I cannot thank Andy, Peter and the team enough for making my husband's lockdown birthday so special. Their home delivery kits are ingenious, and delicious! With great fresh ingredients and easy-to-follow instructions, I was able to create a restaurant quality meal from the comfort of home. My husband was so impressed. Communication from the team was great and I cannot wait to visit in person when we are allowed. Thanks guys!

My son Sam and I treated ourselves to 5 consecutive days of visiting outstanding restaurants this week. We have eaten some amazing, tasty and exceptionally well presented food but The Poet at Matfield stood out head and shoulders above the rest. Andy and his team run like a well oiled machine, my sincere congratulations to the chef who is obviously truly skilled.
Honestly had one of the best meals/evenings ever tonight at The Poet! The food was amazing, with complimentary bits thrown in and a surprise birthday plate for me, the pub is so cozy and warm and the STAFF WERE ANGELS! Couldn’t do more for us. Cannot recommend enough, thank you so much!
Lovely pub located in a beautiful quiet area, the food was absolutely outstanding! Service was exceptional and food arrived very quickly. Personally I would remove service charge you could gain more in tips with a team like that. Could not fault the food in anyway, and the surprise tasters really did seal the deal. If my wallet allowed it I would be going out here every weekend. The Monday steak night is great value for money for those on a budget.
What a fantastic venue! Recently went there for a birthday meal & was v.impressed with the menu, wine choices, local gin selection ... not to mention the great tasting food! Thoroughly recommend the beef dish for 2, with truffle mac 'n' cheese. Friendly, attentive & accommodating staff made this evening a lovely social night out, especially during these trying time of a 'new norm'!!
