Cannot fault it. The food is great. Reasonably priced. And the staff are great. Would recommend the restaurant and the take away service. They have adapted very well to the Covid pandemic

A busy Gastropub even at 14.30 on a Wednesday. I booked in advance. Greeted immediately on arrival and shown to table. Served a great pint of Guinness at the right temperature. Started with salmon tart....5/5 but mayo over seasoned. Scampi served with half a lemon. Scampi spent too long in fryer. Chips excellent. Crumble with ice cream excellent. Cleaning regime after customers left was very thorough, with table seats and floor cleaned. Nice ambience with excellent service levels. Can recommend a visit.
Staff were lovely and very helpful. The food was very good for meat eaters (me) The vegetarian options for my wife were adequate but not extensive. My wife enjoyed what she had hence 5 stars. I would go again, not sure my wife would rush back. I liked it.
Sublime meal. The sharing platter is HUGE, we had six at the table and it was more than big enough for us to feel we all had a starter. There was nothing on the main menu that we didn't want to try. The chowder is glorious with huge chunks of fish and was deliciously creamy. The rib eye was succulent and was cut with a butter knife. The ham hock was huge and superbly flavoured. The sticky beef was generously portioned and was rich in flavour (the orderer of such going 'mine. Get off!') The scampi was scrumptious and very enjoyable. By the time we got through that we only just had room for dessert! The crumble was nicely tart which made a wonderful contrast with the ice-cream, the creme brulee is luscious, the sticky toffee bread and butter pudding was chocolatey. Which confused us all. Tasted amazing, but was confusing. As you can tell a piquant and delightful meal. Go and enjoy. Also don't forget to ask about the specials.
