Lovely pub in idyllic setting. Easy to book. Friendly staff, who give fantastic gin suggestions. Prompt service, the food is well presented and more importantly delicious. Definitely going back.

Really friendly staff and reasonable prices. Had some chips and they were great! The decor is well done and some funny pictures of animals wearing suits. The location is also brilliant, just a couple minutes from the beach with incredible views.

Absolutely brilliantly located pub, just off the main road of Rottingdean. The local beer is sublime. Staff are friendly and swift. There are a few vegan options on the (locally sourced) menu and the prices are not extortionate. I can very much recommend the roasted vegetable and avocado baguette, which I had with chips. I can honestly say it must be the best sandwich I've ever had, even considering when I ate meat. Speaking of, if you're what I constantly refer to as a normal person, the locally sourced meat options look fantastic, and the family that were with me can vouch for the taste. Of particular interest for those who eat whatever, the deli board has a brilliant selection of cheese and meats. Added to this, the Sussex beef and horseradish baguette looked sublime, and was happily received by my companion. All in all, a brilliant pub set back from the main road, with excellent choice in food and drink highly recommend.

Totally hated the miserable tart who served us over the May Bank Holiday. As you can see from my photos the place had several tables free however the said miserable tart kept telling us the tables were reserved. We would of gladly moved once the people had turned up I’m sure the food is great here but staff really make the fun and enjoyment. Will not be suggesting or recommending this to any one

We waited 45 minutes for a starter of fried chicken which was clearly forgotten even though we reminded 2 staff members. Lies came back to be told 'it will be with you in 5 minutes'. Five minutes become 20 minutes and in the end, we left after 45 minutes, not having eaten. Staff were completely unapologetic. No one cared. When we mentioned we will write a review of our experience, the response was: That's fine. That's up to you. Having been customers at the Plough for years and years, that's it for us. At least for some time.
