We had the best Sunday roast ever. Everything perfectly cooked and in generous amounts. Chef of the day Theresa even shared a recipe! And the pudding was of equal standard. Not a chain restaurant so I guess that's why such good quality and value for money. Highly recommend. Was very easy to social distance. Thankyou.

Fabulous been here 4 times now and every time you are treated so well . The chef is lovely came over to talk to me and my husband . I commented on the cheese broad but we were only staying for a drink as we had already been out fur lunch . Five minutes later he brought over a cheese broad for use to try . It was amazing . Great service would recommend it to all my friends . MasterChef look out ..

It was our first time visit to Pickwick Inn. Have driven an hour enticed by the special Czech and Slovak menu put on by the chef Walter. Restaurant is in lovely old building with an open fire place. Plenty of parking spaces outside, beer garden and if visiting with kids there are also baby changing facilities and high chairs. Chef Walter came out to greet us and explained the menu and made recommendations. We had our 2 year old with us and agreed with the chef on small child portion from the specials menu. Walter was very friendly, sorted any special requests, nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely potato rosti starter, it was perfect, not at all greasy like they easily can be. I then had a confit duck leg on red cabbage with dumplings, it was sublime, meat falling off the bone, skin crispy. My husband had a beef goulash in a bread bowl, also delicious and perfectly seasoned. For dessert we had a strawberry steamed pudding with a chocolate sauce and traditional czech cakes with rum custard. Those almost brought tears to my eyes as they tasted just like my grandma used to make them. Portions were very generous, we could hardly finish the amazing feast. It was well worth the 2 hour round trip. My only comment to the inn owner is to put some nice log storage/shelves next to the open fire, it would make a lovely feature rather than having the sacks with logs. Will certainly be back. Many thanks again Walter, you are a true credit to the restaurant.

Lovely old pub with fresh decor. Plenty of tables inside and out to have a drink or a meal. We had Sunday lunch of roast beef and loin of pork. Delicious, a lovely treat and a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Worth booking for Sunday as it was quite busy

We stubbled across The Pickwick Inn on the way home from the beach, and will definitely be returning. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly and the food was amazing - we ordered the slow cooked ribs and braised beef and had a deconstructed cheesecake for dessert. All was fantastic and I would highly recommend a visit. May need to book though as I think it's pretty popular already.
