I sincerely cannot wait to return to The Pele at Corbridge! It's a uniquely historical building with a modern-cum-ancient interior. The welcome I received was warm beyond words (even by the incomparable genuineness of all the local people I met whilst in Northumberland) and I had a fascinating conversation with the hostess/proprietor during my visit. The eclectic yet tasteful furnishings are really charming and the sense of the past combined with the present is a real winner for me. I am regretting not spending a little more time in the locality but, unfortunately, I had onward travel plans.

Stunning little pub, good selection of beers crammed into a very small place, bliss in hot weather as it stays wonderfully cool.

Wow. What a little hidden gem. Nestled within the church grounds in Corbridge this little micro pup serves real ale straight from the barrels to your glass. The bar is small and cosy and a narrow staircase leads you up to 2 more floors where there are more tables and chairs to sit at. The top floor looks over level 1 and looking up from level 1 you can see the roof eaves thanks to the open layout of the top floor. Full of history, this place is a must for anyone passing or travelling to Corbridge. I can't wait to return.
