My partner and I had a lovely dinner at the Peacock and Ivy. The decor is surprisingly calm and lovely for what we initially expected. We both enjoyed our meals and drinks. The only thing was there is no drink menu. This would be a benefit as I'd of liked wine, but was not aware of their selection.

The tap room is a lovely little pub that provides good home cooked styled meals at affordable and reasonable prices. The food is of good quality and you get what you pay for. Staff are lovely however as this is a pub they are unfortunately stuck behind the bar dealing with the locals and their orders. Yoh can wait a long time to be served as a food customer. Not off putting but the staff do make up for it with their friendliness

Clearer Menu Required My friend and I were extremely disappointed last week after ordering the 'Indian Curry'. Much to our surprise, this was a vegetarian curry full of peppers and mushrooms. Whilst I have no issues with vegetarians leading their lives how they wish (unlike vegans who never stop talking about it), I very much enjoy a hunk of meat, as does my mate! Therefore, a simple change in description to 'Indian Vegetable Curry' would alleviate my concerns and avoid any of my fellow meat eaters experiencing the same disappointment we felt.

This is as bog-standard an eating place as I’ve found in Hamilton. Bar West (over the road) is far superior. Unfortunately my partner and I experienced a very beige evening here. Everything about it was just a bit beige. The pakora sauce was about as funky as it got so that tells it’s own story. That’s twice that I’ve been in now and they have had two separate main meals off the menu - not great for 5pm. The macaroni was bland and the chips needed salt. By the time one of the waiting staff had been back to our table, I’d finished 70% of the chips so what was the point in asking for salt by then? Toilets could do with a makeover. Bar staff were alright. All in all, a bit of a beige experience.
