Lovely staff. Food delicious and great value. Drinks good price. Proper pub. Relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended.

I made this mistake of not visiting here for a long time. The reason simply because it is by the town centre and I generally avoid pubs there. How wrong I was. Good reviews popped up of the place in my phone so gave it a go. A proper pub. Stone floor, nice bar, good beer. More importantly a friendly landlady and a huddle of regulars at the bar 'chewing the fat' and who also were friendly. Gave the place a nice feel. Will now be in my list and making it a regular stop for a pint.

Quite surprised by the positive reviews so maybe it’s changed but I visited here a while ago and it didn’t even feel like a pub. No one was in there and it lacked any sort of atmosphere. Also the decor at the time felt a bit clinical, hence it not really feeling like a pub.
