Thoroughly enjoyed my date with my partner here tonight. The food was perfectly prepared. I had the 8oz sirloin and it was prepared exactly as asked. The prices are reasonable for the quality. The staff are also attentive, we came on a particularly busy Saturday night so the main meal was a little slow, but we were offered complimentary drinks without being prompted. Nice atmosphere, gentle lighting.

Staff were very friendly and polite. Served us quickly. It has lovely views from the outside seating area. It was decorated to a very high standard and was very clean. Dogs are allowed outside. Seating available both inside and outside. Prices were very reasonable. Would definitely come back again

We had two meals whilst we were in Weston, here and Il Michaelangelo up the promenade. Michaelangelo was better. The Old Thatched Cottage is relying on its location really. Food was ok for the price of it. The menu is a bit dated to be honest. And if you’re not ordering steak you’re going to be disappointed with the size of the portions. Steak was good if a little over done for my liking (wife and I ordered medium rare, got medium). White wine was warm, but they replaced it after we asked for some nice which was good. Home made apple crumble was amazing but the chocolate brownie was tiny - a mouthful. Service was curt bordering on rude. But they made sure we had everything we needed. Like I said, this place is leaning into its location and probably needs a menu facelift (or reduce the price) before it slips further. There’s better places in Weston.

This is a good place but slightly overpriced for what you get for my liking. The staff are very friendly and attentive and maybe that's what you get for the higher price of food so maybe keep that in mind if you choose to go here. The tables were clean and the decor inside is good and interesting to have a nose at for a bit. The outside looks very modern and up to date and the one time we have eaten here before was outside. It is a lovely place to go if you want to sit outside near the seafront. I would go back here but not often due to the price of the food. This is why I feel I gave it 3 stars instead of 4. If the price went down or the food made me go wow each time (so made me think it was definitely worth the price) I think it would have made more of an impression and I would have given it 4 stars. Definitely worth a go though as you might think differently

On a windswept Tuesday lunchtime, next to the inexpensive seafront carpark at Melrose, this mid price restaurant has a good menu of fish, Mediterranean, and British standard dishes. Service was excellent.
