A beautiful pub with warm decor and great food. Fast and friendly service. The owners came to our table and had a good chat. We will certainly be returning with our dogs to take advantage of the walks in the area as well. The chocolate brownie is a must and if you ask ahead you may even get the off menu Death by Chocolate. Just ask really really nicely!

Cosy pub in an excellent location - out in the country and next to the popular Abbot's Wood. Staff were friendly but service was not ideal. The server took my order then served someone else without actually ringing my order in. I had to ask him to pay for my order. I ordered the chicken bacon stack which on the menu clearly says is served with red onion and tomato. This was completely absent from my plate when it arrived.
After a muddy walk in Abbots Wood we picked up a great takeaway from The Old Oak. Paul and Kate are very welcoming and we thoroughly recommend the beef bourguignon and the Old Oak burger. The onion rings are a must! Looking forward to visiting properly when we are out of Tier 4. Until then the takeaway menu looks very tasty.
Beautifully traditional English pub. Perfect for a drink and a filling meal after walking round the woods. Stunning fireplace too
A very nice country pub with a lot of local history. It was very cosy and pet friendly with great beers and food on offer. We had a steak and mushroom pie and Cajun chicken burger which were both very good. Would recommend if your in the Abbots Wood area!
