Axminsters very own fried chicken shop I wacked my order in on the opening night at around 7pm for 8pm pickup, very impressed with the whole set up, food was ready on time, great branding and the chicken tasted amazing, great crispy chips big things to come from these guys I think. Very friendly, decent food and lots of it! I couldn't finish my roast pork loin. Pleasant village to wander around and stretch legs/walk the dog. Interesting old pub building and totally dog friendly.
Absolutely shocking table service! Walked in sat down with my family including my children who were very hungry waited half an hour for drinks then got given a used food menu to which no one even came over to us and asked if we were ready to order (after a further half hour) so we asked for our bill and left. The young girl serving seemed to be doing all the work whilst the other 2 chatted to customers for lengthy periods leaving us with shocking table service. When we asked for our bill for the drinks the girl didn’t even question us to why we weren’t eating. Absolutely unbelievable! And the state of the cook to be honest I’m glad we didn’t eat there!
Food was magnificent! Definitely recommend going there! Staff friendly and helpful.
Found this lovely pub on our first night up from Cornwall. Lovely food and lovely hosts. Lots of character. Definitely worth a visit.
