This pub is very close to my heart. A true gem. Cooperatively owned and with its own brewery, what's not to love. A very warm and friendly welcome everytime. When you are able to hold events, they are very accommodating. This was my dad's favourite pub and will long continue to be one of mine too.

Outstanding pub with it's own brewery! I've visited this pub for a long long time now and it's not changed it's character. Friendly staff, superb (camra real ale guide) beer and good quality simple food make this place well worth visiting, add to that the beautiful countryside views and lovely walks and you have a day well spent. Finally I forgot to mention that the pub is dog friendly and if you want to the real ale at home then they will sell you a four pint container of your favourite tipple.
Very festive, great beer and a substantial pie what more could you want on a wet and windy Boxing Day?
The Place to be ! A wonderful, atmospheric, friendly local inn in Hesket Newmarket. Do not miss if you're here walking, cycling, or just relaxing. Proper ales, great food and welcoming staff make this the pub we all want to find when we're on our travels.
Great village pub owned by the community with its own brewery behind the pub. Superb evening meals. Booking 24 hours in advance is recommended. Lamb shoulder 15 is to die for.
