A pub hidden from the general public, located on the side of a steep flight of stairs near Falmouth harbour. It is pretty much a prototypical old style community boozer for the local folk to while away a lazy afternoon. The beer range is rather limited but always includes a guest ale on hand-pumps. As could be expected, the décor is nothing much to write home about, but the staff are nice and if you want to get into touch with the home folk, this is the place. It is frequented mostly by middle-aged to elderly customers, who can get a bit lively as the afternoon progresses. Mostly free of tourists (except myself).
How sad that when passing and wanting to have our first Cornish ale, they refused to serve us if we sat on the bench outside. No welcome for us here.
Traditional pub in the centre of town. Great atmosphere, real beer and you can bring your own pasty.
