Recently reopened under new management, the New Inn now seems to be attracting a wider clientele after (apparently) dropping its 'gay' connections. The addition of some decent real ales also helps. When last I was there two Rebellion beers from Marlow Brewery were on offer and both were excellent. The ubiquitous Doombar, the only offering under the last management, has been dropped. Reviews posted during an earlier tenure mention food. Early days yet but there is no food available presently. (This review posted mid-September). Definitely a pub to include on any crawl of the town's decent real ale venues, of which there are very few.

Slowly becoming my new favourite pub. Staff are friendly & the atmosphere's good
Decent guy running it, but sadly, still suffers from being at one of the lowest places in Basingstoke.
Nice and welcoming, quieter than I expected on a Wednesday night, but thats what i was looking for tonight and still a friendly atmosphere
