Excellent food that tastes as good as it is presented in a restaurant that combines the characteristics of the original building with a modern feel. Starters (no pictures unfortunately as we tucked in to them too quickly) were equally good, we had the scallop accompanied with a piece of pork belly and mackerel presented two ways. Pictures here are of the stone bass and lamb mains plus lemon posset and panna cotta for dessert. Raspberry souffle was perhaps the star of the show (again, no picture as my son tucked into it too quickly). Staff were excellent and perhaps the best we have encountered recently on covid measures.

Genuinely the best Sunday roast I’ve ever had. Presented in a beautiful way for 4 people and every part delicious. The puddings were unreal and the service was perfect. Covid-19 measures were all in place but unassuming. We were a party of 4 and it was a unanimous vote - 5/5 we can’t wait to return soon.
It's difficult to provide an accurate rating in the middle of a pandemic but The Merchant's Yard has to be one of the best examples of how to do it right. I visited at lunchtime with my wife; there is not just hand jell available at the entrance but also a wash basin. Inside, tables are well spaced but they still manage to create an informal, relaxed atmosphere. We had the 22 three course menu. The food was well prepared and presented. It was excellent value. The one waiter managed everything with ease.
Had 3 courses for 20, was an awesome deal that I would highly recommend. Foid was very tasty and well worth it
Had a great meal here. Loved the Pave of sirloin steak!
