Good lord what a lovely Sunday Lunch!!! We got battered on Cross Fell so where feeling PROPER sorry for ourselves so we booked into the Masons Arms! We had two Sunday dinners and they were bloody amazing! I’m a right greedy sod and ALWAYS feel like pubs are tight arsed but not a problem here!lovely big portions!! We washed it down with a locale Ale and a pudding each (obviously.. who doesn’t?!) .. fudge cake and a apple and raspberry crumble .. all this was done in front of an open fire!!! The landlady was a star! Really lovely and welcoming!! Even in COVID times her warmth and passion for her pub came across!! We mucked her about a bit with timings too!!! If it wasnt uncouth to swear id of said this place was effing wonderful!! We do a lot of poncing about on the hills so we absolutely will be back!!
