Lovely setting and the food was nice . On arrival the Manager was rather rude but ends his sentence with sir , so supposedly this rectified the abruptness ....? The waitress was nice and helpful . The manager came out with the meals and could not even muster a smile . I was rather disappointed as I was celebrating my birthday after hearing such good reviews was looking forward to the lunching there . Neither the waitress or the manager wore a mask or shield . On arrival we were rudely told to sign the register which we both missed as it was on a small table out of sight to the entrance . It would be nice if Covid guidelines were adhered to .

Nice setting but excruciatingly expensive for standard pub grub. Bloke on the bar was a bit sassy (it was 33C and maybe a little hot and bothered, but the best welcome) 3.75 for soda and lime, 18 for a burger... Ouch

We had a wonderful lunch in this quiet pub. The atmosphere was excellent, the beer very good and the food, perfect for a January day.
