Just had a meal out here and can only say how amazing it was. Absolutely delicious food, looked great on the plate and tasted even better. Nice range of ales too. Staff very friendly and more than happy with distancing arrangements.

Good vegan choices. Great beer, gin, whiskey. Characterful and authentic with friendly staff. Good distancing and screens between closed tables and bar till. Highly recommend.
After walking alongside the canal from poolbrook to Chesterfield we arrived hungry and looking in the town centre for somewhere to eat. We came across the The Market and it was the best decision to go in we made. Even though we had not booked we got a table. We can honestly say it was the best beef dinner we have had out. Everything about this pub was spot on including the staff. Could not fault anything.
First time being in Chesterfield, spotted this pub first but walked around for almost an hour trying to find a pub that wasn't too owdy\. Came back here, clientele were right up my street, very friendly lady on the bar, as it was cash she opened a tab for us. We completely forgot that it was cash only, but the guy said that it's fine and completely trusted us to go to the cash machine to get money out. The ladies toilets are tiny, BUT they've squeezed in everything you need. Also super clean. Thank you for our first visit. Will definitely be coming back tomorrow if we have time x
