After hearing of the new chef, we were excited to come and visit. And we were not disappointed. We went on Sunday, sat in the garden which has been closed off with marquee, heaters are provided so not cold. We were entertained with live music for the afternoon. To start with we had oysters, which were accompanied with the most delicious freshly baked rolls, hot and fluffy. I had the roast lamb for main which was cooked perfectly, came with so many sides absolutely delicious. Other dishes included the scampi with the most amazing curry sauce, best he has ever had. Also nut roasts which also came with veggie gravy and roast beef. No complaints at all. Food was outstanding. Service was tentative we never had to wait long for anything, staff were polite and friendly. They have adopted covid measures very well, I felt very safe. Will definitely be coming back as soon as possible to try more items on the menu.

Lovely food and great service
Very good Covid-19 adherence. Went for lunch following a walk, lovely pot of tea and good variety of food well prepared. Pleasant staff. All was good, would go again if in area. Advertisement for taster menu and wine tasting looked great - wish I was closer!
My wife and I had a wonderful evening at the Mariners last night. The new menu had lots of variety, the food was delicious and well cooked piping hot with lots of flavour. The staff were attentive but not intrusive. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very relaxing. We would highly recommend the Mariners and we will definitely be going back.
