We went to see The Night Garden at Heligan this evening. We love Heligan anyway and wanted to see what it would be like after dark. What a magical experience!! Honestly one of the nicest after dark displays we have ever seen. The atmosphere was amazing and the lighted animals are incredibly beautiful and lifelike. There were beautiful fire pits dotted around for a quick warm up and delicious hot chocolate, mulled wine and cider to keep the cold out. The children loved toasting marshmallows too. The staff were elpful and full of smiles and seemed to be enjoying themselves as much as we were. Heligan, this is a triumph! We're going to book again before this finishes. It's fantastic value for money with everything to see and do and just what we need to end an awful year in a magical way.

Loved our visit today. Bit muddy so would recommend walking boots or old shoes if there has been rain. A lovely place to go for a wintery walk, lots of history and nature to explore. You can get a locals pass before the end of November which means you get free entry for a year. Perfect if you are local! Lovely for all ages.
Absolutely exotic place with variety of plants/trees. Very well maintained, plenty of parking, open area for kids to play and rest, if someone is tired of walking. It does require a lot of walking though, so plan your day to spend 4-5 hrs. in Heligan garden to make most of it. They have very nice cafe, serving hot drinks and quite bite to refuel :) Highly recommended for people visiting Sourth-east part of Cornwall.
An enjoyable walk with some great pieces of work, particularly the Grey Lady ! The walk was shorter than anticipated as we did the entire walk in just under 2 hours. We would have liked to have seen more pieces of art work for the trip to be completely worth our while. On the other hand, the gift shop was brilliant, truly showing an interest into sustainable living catering to even the most ethically oblivious. However, whilst browsing we were extremely surprised to see the lack of marketing towards the art works feature. Especially in relation to postcards. In our eyes, this is a massive souvenir chance missed.
Myself, partner, son (16 months old) and my Mam (over 60) went for the day out and we all loved it. Managed to get around most of it (we think) and got lost a few times but it was all part of the fun. The heavens opened and there were no cafés to take shelter so we stood under a tree until it blew over. I would recommend taking rain coats, wellies etc. We were there for about 6 hours and really enjoyed it all. Our favourite part was the jungle!
