Great restaurant above the shops in the centre of town. Style is somewhat bohemian with local art on display. Good variety of homemade foods and local fish specialties. Service is friendly. Closes at 9pm

A new place to try with high expectations which unfortunately fell a little flat. First off, The loft is a lovely place to come to and very friendly. The service from the staff who took took our order and looked after us during our meal was really good. My wife's fish and chips looked superb and tasted as good as it looked. My lamb meatballs on the other hand were less so. Arrived on a small rectangular plate where the meatballs were the size of cherry tomatoes. Unfortunately the pasta had not been drained property, leaving a pool of water on my plate. Tasted quite bland. Any seasoning added had vanished and my meatball sauce became watery too. Such a shame. I had been looking forward to the meal but it didn't deliver for me. The cheeseboard at 8 was tasty and plenty and the wine was nice too. We did give our feedback to the waiting staff after and they did say they would feed this back to the chef. I do hope to return in future and hope this is a one off. The menu did look great but I'll have to think twice about what I have next time.

Friendly service but the meal was awful. Scallops with cauliflower purée and skin on fries. The purée was watery and had no flavour. Scallops poorly cooked, very flabby and poor quality. White wine was served quite warm. I wouldn’t go back.
