We called in for an early lunch on Monday. The waitress was lovely, very attentive and friendly. The beer is excellent and the orange juice and lemonade my wife had was made with freshly squeezed oranges. The food was superb, best meal we've had out in a very long time. My Cornish hake with beetroot and dill risotto was outstanding. The Larder House would be a regular haunt if we lived locally.

Good food, friendly staff. We went for lunch and were served quickly. Prices were reasonable and the three sharing platters we had between six of us were tasty and good quality. Only took photos of the desserts though. Docked one star for keeping the door open when it wasn’t quite warm enough, and for very strong cooking smells permeating all clothing despite having the door open. Booking a table through the web system required prepayment of 60 (deducted from the bill) which was a bit of a surprise, but worked smoothly

WOW! What can I say? From the outset the staff where incredibly knowledgeable - the table service was impeccable. The waitress knew each and every item on the menu - where it came from, how it was created, the origins of it all! WOW! Massive respect to locally sourced produce! Food-miles? No food miles the produce was superb - James did us proud by adding a dozen oysters to the night out! The taste of the sea! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! To die for. We had a massive range for wood fired steaks and fish. The cheese (so called sharing platter!) I didn't want to share it, more like hide in the under the stair cupboard and dream / eat. :-) I can't say enough about this venue! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE just book a night out and treat yourself to some of the best Dorset has to offer! James - thank you - and please pass on our thanks to all your staff! We will return.

Came on Bank Holiday Monday for our first date night in a long while and had a wonderful evening. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly and welcoming team and fantastic food. We went for a few little tapas plates and finished off with some beautiful desserts. The table was rebooked after us but at no point did we feel rushed.
