Great pub - has a expansive layout and lots of space, as well as a soulful craic that gives pubs their magic. Do good beer and host Abingdon Speakers club, which gives that club a unique vibe in being able to get a pint halfway through a public speaking meeting! When I went there, I met a savant who knew the date of birth of any celebrity. One of those extraordinarily memorable encounters...

Superb local pub in the centre of Abingdon. The pub itself is a wonderful old coaching inn with heaps of ambiance and warmth. There is a great selection of local ales and these are very well kept. The food menu is exactly what you want from a pub, and this is very good fare for a fair price. The staff are all lovely and led by a great landlady. I thoroughly recommend a visit to this pub if you’re in the area.

Cracking pub with a nice extension which is spacious and light in the day and ambient and romantic in the evening. Good beer and ales on tap, great overall pub breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. Lots of choice. The chairs are a little uncomfortable in the new extension, perhaps down to a lack of lumbar support but this won't stop me from going again and again. Big fan!

Our first visit following a recent refurbishment and we were very impressed, 6 lunch menu available including a soft drink or 2 to upgrade to a glass of wine. Meals very nice and good value for money. Clean toilets and friendly staff.
