Fantastic traditional fish and chip shop, right in the heart of Stratford Upon Avon. Out front you'll find the take away part of the business, but out back (just down the alley) you'll find a small restaurant. I think it can get busy, but I managed to find a seat. The food is made to order, fairly priced and brought to your table. It was also fantastic quality and the portions are huge! The fish was perfectly cooked. The chips had that home made taste and the mushy peas were very nice (and plentiful). This is how fish and chips should be done.

Said it shut at 21:00! I turned up up at 20:50, 2 people inside but door locked! When they left, I said it says you're open until 21:00 I was informed it shut at 20:30 and so I pointed her to the sign on the door showing it opened until 21:00! She shrugged and said it should be 20:30 then shut the door!!! Just plain rude!
Spur of the moment decision to call in when passing as it smelled so good! I just ordered fish which was cooked to order but i only waited 5 minutes or so. Carried back to eat at work - made every one in the staff room jealous! The batter was light, thin and still crispy and a lovely deep golden colour with no gooey bits inside. The fish was pearly white and beautifully cooked. The Kingfisher never fails to satisfy!
