If you're reading this review and decide that you'll pass on The King William IV, you're crazy. You will miss out on the absolute best English Pub experience in the Surrey Hills. Not only is the building itself beautiful, but the views are phenomenal. The food is also elevated to a much higher standard than your normal pub grub. The autumn soup as a starter was warm, creamy and perfectly spiced. I had a chicken, leek and ham pie as my main - legitimately this is the best pie I've had in my life. Sticky toffee pudding rounded out the day and we joked that I'd need a wheelbarrow to roll me out! The owner was out conversing with everyone, making sure we were all happy. And we were. We plan to bring our families here when they come to visit from the US. Don't miss out on this place. If you do, you'll probably be haunted for all of eternity.

After the 8 mile Box Hill bike it’s lovely to finish at the King William for a refreshing beverage and a Sunday lunch! We have been here four times now and the food is excellent and the service is great. The garden is beautiful with amazing views and the the Sheer Drop beer is particularly good! We will definitely be back in September when the full Sunday lunch menu is back.
Only open for takeouts on recent (Jan 2021) visit, but super friendly. Covfefe and chips must've been triple fried or something. Look forward to returning once it reopens fully.
Easily one of the nicest pubs I've ever been to. We were lucky with the weather so could sit outside in the fabulous garden with stunning views. I love how tucked away the tables are throughout the bushes. The calamari was to die for! We experienced a very warm welcome on arrival. Abigail was amazing, so friendly and attentive. I can't wait to return. X
Love this pub. Definitely add it to the end of your walk when things are back to normal.
