What a fabulous surprise, we had a very enjoyable, high quality meal with pleasant, friendly service and a beautiful sunny evening in their lovely pub garden. The food here is terrific, from the roasted chick peas in the starter to an original salmon caesar salad, it was all perfect. I want to go back through my previous 5 star reviews and change them to 4 as I had no idea pub grub could be this good.

This is a very friendly place. I arrived on spec as it were, on my Harley Davidson, clad in leathers having just visited the Kent Battle of Britain Museum at Hawkinge, a few miles down the road. I was made most welcome (not turned away based purely on first glance!). The place was spotlessly clean inside, the one beer I had, I greatly enjoyed and their Spitfire corner is most interesting. Most people know that this pub was used in the making of the 1969 film The Battle Of Britain and that connection is evident inside the pub. In 2019, they had a commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the film including special glasses, which are still used. They owners have done a lot of work during the 2020 lockdown and frankly, it shows! A lovely pub and one I will definitely return to, even if it is 50 miles from where I live!

Was an impromptu visit, Landlady and landlord were very friendly and welcoming, following covid guidelines. We just had a bowl of cheesy chips each and a drink. Sat outside in the warm sunshine. We will book a table for a meal soon

Let my two friends and me have a quick bite to eat despite not booking. Didn't feel rushed and excellent food and customer service. Shame we're not local or we'd definitely return
