It was 2pm and this was the only place that was still serving. I didn’t have high hopes with scampi and chips at 5, which was cheaper than the chippy, but I needed a late lunch. What a surprise!!! It turns out that this is the last place on earth which employs a cook who has retained the ancient skill of peeling and slicing a real potato to make fresh chips! Well done, just as good as my mum used to make. A generous lunch, nice peas and a pot of tartar sauce, no sachets, no plastic cutlery, no sticky table tops. Definitely a place to return to. A “Very Good” sticker for the owner.
