Really traditional pub with a good atmosphere. Outdoor space and beer garden for the summer and a classic interior of dark woods and tiled floor. Homely with open fires and dogs welcome. Food is very nice and reasonably priced and even has an extensive menu for vegetarians and vegans.

Covid complient in all ways. Lovely Mussels in cream & garlic sauce served with white bloomer with melted butter pats. French stick would've been better. Friendly staff, clean toilets which I noticed were cleaned again after each customers use. Will definitely visit again.

Poor, very poor. Went out for a family lunch but didn't stay - staff were late opening up (crowd had gathered outside in the rain and had knocked the door repeatedly), staff eventually opened but no apologies for tardiness and seemed to resent the customers being there! Not at all welcoming but ordered drinks nonetheless but the real ales were awful, tasted sour like old beer, the Pedigree was warm as if the cellar was broken.Took them back to the bar and staff were not apologetic and wouldn't taste it for themselves, just disputed that anything was wrong! Asked to see the manager but given some poor, mumbled excuse and no-one came out. In fairness we were refunded for the drinks but the whole experience was unpleasant, we didn't stay for food and took our leave, staff were obviously having a bad day, very unwelcoming and best avoided!

A great pint in a quiet village pub & you get to fuss the really friendly (nosey) goat at the pond & there's chickens roaming around
