My partner and I had an excellent meal at the Horse & Groom with warm, friendly service and great food. As well as this, we've also visited a few times with friends and the pub provides a perfect location for a drink in a nice garden by the nearby river. I would highly recommend a visit.

I booked a table yesterday to have dinner with my wife and the experience was excellent from the beginning to the end. We were advised about a new comer to the menu, a 21oz steak you only have to look at the photos to fall in love with. We had a superbly chosen partner, a bottle of a beautiful Italian wine, another recommendation. We couldn't help but to ask for a second one. I would like to thank all the members of the Horse and Groom team for making us feel so welcomed. You'll see us back soon.
Can't fault this pub. Great choice of food at very reasonable prices. (our vegan friend rates it highly). Staff super friendly. Enjoyed the garden, which is huge, during summer. Moved into the marquee when it got cooler and are moving inside for a festive lunch before Christmas because we feel safe. And to top it off the beer is splendid.
A very nice family Sunday lunch out today for 5. The food was great. Service very good. Social distancing & hand sanitisation arrangements excellent. My only minor criticism would be no hot water to wash hands in the Ladies'. I would definitely recommend & dine here again.
A fantastic location beside the river ouse. A huge outdoor garden which gets considerable shade on hot days.
