It was closed due to the lockdown situation, But I bought some really excellent fish from possibly the best fishmonger in England. Darren

A very well setup and decorative pub with a large selection of beers and very friendly and well trained staff. We enjoyed our meals but have to say the fish was rather oily. The cow burger was delightful, the king prawns as a starter very tasty (being from Australia, not sure how they were defined as King) and the others enjoyed their meals as well. All in all a good meal, environment and reasonable prices. We had 3.5 starters, 4 mains, 5 pints and 2 Prosecco. With tip 100.

I absolutely love this place, sometimes I just pop In for a beer. Sometimes we book and eat, the cobbled garden is lovely in the sunshine. Can’t wait till it’s open again.

We were holidaying nearby and tried our luck here - we certainly weren't disappointed. The food is all home made, served in generous portions and absolutely delicious. We quickly abandoned all thoughts of exploring elsewhere after eating at the Hop Vine. The staff are very friendly and despite the place being packed on all three nights, the service was faultless. Great prices for great food served by great people is a winning combination here. A brief chat with the landlord Mike demonstrated to me that the pride and experience he possesses is something that his business benefits from greatly. Quite simply, I've never eaten better food.

NO HIGH CHAIRS PROVIDED! The Hopvine is one of my favourite places to eat. Great food; good selection of beers and lagers and friendly staff. However, on Sunday 6 September, we booked a table for four adults and a baby, with a special request for a high chair. The booking was made a week in advance. Having had no reply to this request, we assumed a highchair would be provided. When we made a call prior to leaving home, we were told that no highchairs are provided. The offer of cushions to prop a baby up is not appropriate. Unfortunately, we had to cancel about three hours before eating. We managed to find another restaurant locally who had a highchair. It would be appreciated if on the Hopvine website it is made clear that highchairs are not provided. We found it surprisingly disappointing that when we made the booking with the special request, we were not informed that this could not been provided.
