Easy place to eat before the ferry to the Hoek
Lovely pub, closed at the moment unfortunately but managed to get a lovely Sunday lunch before Lockdown.
Despite the menu online being a different menu to what was on offer, we had a fantastic lunch today, the steak and Ale pie was a real pie!! (Proper pastry, not a bowl of soup with a puff pastry lid) the risotto balls were good, the star is hard to choose, either the lady that served us, or the dessert. Both were amazing. What a great person and what a wonderful honeycomb cheesecake!! Food generally a little under seasoned, but thats a sign of the times with healthy eating etc... if you are near Colchester or Ipswich, this is worth a journey in itself. Their COVID controls were meticulous, well done everyone who has worked there to keep this little gem running. It was nice to get out the house for once for a birthday treat!
