lovely country pub!!!!.....that is until a chain brought into it. have been here before and it was faultless but arriving last night it wasnt a fantastic start l, we was greeted by what i found out to be the manager with a cant be bothered attitude he took us to an area and said theres 3 tables of 2 take your pick and just walked off and we was stood there not knowing where to go.....thankfully our waitress Dianna i think she was called was very helpful upbeat and all in all fantastic!!!!. we had complimentary bread for the table the presentation was almost perfect as there was flour all over the knife so when you cut the bred you ended up with flour all over you. i had the chicken strips to start, they where a little over cooked and a bit dry but there was plenty of BBQ sauce to correct that my partner had the soup of the day which was packed full of flavour and had a nice little chili kick to it, then there was the beef hot pot for my partner's main which had big chunks of melt in the mouth beef in it and plenty of it altho the veg that accompanied it was a little under cooked and hard, i had the rack of ribs which was extremely tasty the meat was falling off the bone and smothered in a tasty BBQ sauce. the portion size was generous i even took a doggy bag as i couldn't eat the entire rack. we shared a very rich and indulgent chocolate brownie to finish the meal off which was perfect. there didnt seem to be much social distancing going on which unnerved me a little bit as we had a table right behind us of 3 and less than 1 meter away but every1 seemed to be sanitising and doing what they should. i wouldn't go out of my way to pop in but if i was in the area i would make a return visit as the views and location are brilliant.

Have been to The Hare a couple times since re-opening from lock-down and have had two very nice experiences there! The food was lovely, the servers were very friendly and accommodating. The safety measures put into place are better than have seen in other restaurants. There were a few things missing from the menu both times which was a shame as wanted to order some dishes from the list however the food we did order was excellent. Definitely coming back!

Been to the hare several times and always enjoyed the food and since lockdown i felt safe as the staff were taking all precautions and following guidelines, however today I was disappointed, the potatoes on my hotpot were raw, meat was very fatty and no members of staff were wearing face masks, I asked why this was and the reply was, the manager has seen that other restaurants are not using them, the manager didn't think they were useful so they were not needed, they are uncomfortable when you are working 12 hours and the manager thinks its nicer for the customer to see their servers face. Does not give me peace of mind to go back there to be honest. This attitude is part of the reason why numbers of cases are increasing.
