What a great pub! Unpretentious interior, plain wooden benches and a roaring fire welcome you in. An extensive and varied menu, reasonably priced and well cooked. The real treasure for Real Ale enthusiasts is the well stocked cellar. Always 5-6 casks available with local and further afield offerings, always well looked after. Although this is an establishment a bit off the beaten path, it is deservedly popular and sought out by those in the know. Highly reccomended.

My commute (on public transport) used to take me past this idyllic looking pub, always wanted to stop off, unfortunately I was on the last bus returning home. Many years on, I returned to the area and made time to finally stop off with the family. It didn't disappoint. Lovely setting, great ambience and the food was hearty and left us feeling extremely satisfied. Cannot wait to return again.

The food is really good - especially the chips, which are epic. The staff are very nice and friendly. There's a big garden, so plenty of space to sit outside - not loads of tables inside, but we prebooked. Some gluten free options would have been nice, but not a problem. The only slight niggle were the flies, but everywhere we went had them, so no stars dropped for that.

Traditional English pub! Lovely food offering and a fantastic choice of beers. Dog friendly and the hosts are welcoming and friendly.
