We ordered a meal for three from the Halfway House, it was delivered free of charge. The food was very hot on arrival, well packaged and plentiful portions. We all enjoyed our meals that were very well priced and the puddings were delicious. We would thoroughly recommend this pub as the meals were excellent. We will use them again and tell our friends of the very good service from the staff of the Halfway House

Thoroughly enjoyed lunch here and fab play area for children. Covid-19 friendly and great service. The salmon fishcakes were divine.

Good food, and very good selection of real ale. Friendly staff, and really easy and safe experience post coronapocalypse. No problem with dogs, and children's play area has reopened, so one for all the family. Added bonus (for some), complete mobile coverage dead zone. So if you want somewhere to get away from the rat race with your family in a lovely outdoor and relaxed environment, this is it.

Had a delicious hake and chips with peas. The hake which I haven't eaten before was tender and had a lovely flavour and the batter was crispy. The portion size of the hake could have been larger for 11.50 as it was a bit on the small side. The peas were good but it's not hard to get peas wrong, just standard boiled peas. Would be nicer as homemade mushy peas for the price. The tartare sauce was delicious, light and tangy and contrasted well with the hot chips. The reason for 3 stars is now the worst part, the waiting time... We (5 adults, 5 meals) ordered at 7.30pm and unfortunately being the last order taken, the food didn't arrive until 8.45pm. I understand completely that it was a very busy evening but having experience as a waiter before, you should always give a rough estimate on the waiting time when there are a lot of customers. It was disappointing that we weren't offered a free drink or crisps at all and due to our hunger 1 hour after ordering, we had to get 4 bags of crisps.

Really nice country pub that never seems to be far too busy. It's very pretty inside and has a very big garden - perfect for summer. We have eaten here a couple of times and the food is good and responsibly priced. There is a good selection of drinks too.
