In summary: overpriced, poor cooking & VERY late We ordered Sunday lunch to be delivered. Once we got to 30 minutes past the delivery time we tried to call the pub, but had to call 4 times before they answered the call. Finally the delivery arrived 45 minutes late, with an apology that they were “really busy” - I don’t accept that as reasonable. The food then wen on to disappoint. I took a picture of the roast beef dinner, which cost 17.00. Although the beer was fabulous, there was nowhere near enough. Everything was luke warm, there were not enough vegetables, and those that were present were undercooked. Really, really disappointing. I will leave it to the reader to decide if the meal looks like being worth 17. Pudding was equally poor. Pictured is an apple crumble, which came with a very small pot of frozen custard (not the “lashings” promised on the menu. Overall this was poor food, too expensive and really poor service. Not patronising the Half Moon again.

Lovely pub in a beautiful setting. We just had a drink in the large beer garden, which was ideal at the end of a walk. Update: Visited again and had lunch in the restaurant area. Superb food, well presented. Had the seafood platter....to myself! Magnificent, see photo. Bread and butter pudding could have done with a bit of pepping up, a little plain but Elton mess looked great. Restaurant area could do with some soft furnishings to absorb noise. With only a dozen people in there it was noisy. If it was full it would be very noisy indeed. Just a suggestion. I was really impressed overall!
Lovely out door dinning area, food excellent, sad we are going into tier 3, see you soon hopefully in tier 2
Great outside dining area with fire tables & roof, lovely food & friendly service so a nice dining experience with friends in covid times!
Lovely food, great atmosphere and a beautiful setting. A great little playground that was clean and tidy too. Only issue was service was a little slow. However overall its a great pub.
