Proper old fashioned pub, with friendly locals and staff. Made our group of four adult and four dogs very welcomed.
Great little pub, and a pint or two of Old Rosie can only be a good thing, we visited here a couple of times and will definitely be back.
The Golden Lion is a friendly community pub not far from St. Ives Harbour and offers a decent selection of beers/ciders, solid-quality pub food and a relaxed atmosphere. This is less of a tourist place than, say, The Lifeboat Inn, so your may find more locals than foreigners (myself excluded) here. The bar staff are very friendly indeed, and you can better unwind in this rather small establishment than at the larger, busier places. As food I had the chilli chicken with wedges and a better-than-average salad garnish (not the three dry leaves often served). The chicken breast was agreeably spicy and well prepared. There were quite a few inviting options on the menu. Drinks prices are pretty much average for the location (so, not too low).
