I ate here with my family on a quiet Saturday night. The atmosphere was good with a quirky but traditional decor that made me feel like I was in a mirror maze. I ordered a Fish and chips with Mushy peas and having previously worked at a fish and chip van I tuckered into my favourite meal. The food came out hot and in good timing but the batter wasn't the best, it could have been a lot crisper and the chips were tasty but should be named fries as they didn't seem thick or hand-cut. Great portion with a delicious pot of Mushy peas and tasty tartare sauce but I was expecting a little better for the price at 12.95. The apple and pear crumble with custard was lovely and came out hot and crumbly as hoped.

10/10!!!! The staff was outstanding, the food was excellent (well done chef). I felt so safe with Covid-19 social distancing, the cleanliness and the yellow brick road my boss and I went for lunch on Thursday. Ordered deep fried Brie in bread crumbs (oh to die for) and prawns in creamy white wine and garlic sauce (gorgeous). We both ordered Thai salad with prawns. We drank the remaining dressing from the bowl ( way to delicious to waste). Keep up your amazing ways guys ️️️️
The George is a very well run pub and has been made extremely safe to enjoy during this pandemic. Food good and service excellent
