Excellent. Everything was excellent. Had the lamb shoulder which was melt in your mouth and perfectly seasoned. And a great atmosphere

Absolute shambles. Booked a table for dinner at 3pm today for 7.30pm this evening. Turned up and told our booking didn’t exist. We booked a bar table, as we had our dog with us so knew full well we couldn’t sit in the restaurant. Having come here on Saturday just gone for the first time ever and having a lovely time it’s such a shame to be embarrassed as we stood in the bar area being informed our booking didn’t exist. After much debate the lady magically discovered our booking and informed us we could leave the dog in the car and sit in the restaurant as our table had gone to someone else. Dogs are apparently a request and not guaranteed. Thanks for informing us when we booked! A down right embarrassment and left to go in the search of somewhere else. Service skills in dire need of updating.
It was a useful place to stop for refreshments and a good starting point for a lovely walk. There was outdoor seating available but nothing much on the menu for a person who needs a gluten free, low fat diet, sadly.
Have just had a very tasty lunch at The George and Dragon. My husband and I both ordered calf's liver with mash, onion rings and red wine jus. It was delicious! This was followed by dessert of sticky toffee pudding for my husband and light pancakes for me. All excellent! The staff were very friendly and obliging. The pub itself is cosy with open fires. We felt Covid safe and will definitely eat there again.
